Victory Academy is a private, Christian, co-educational high school offering quality educational instruction to students ranging from Grades 7 through 11 inclusive of a special education unit. The school is duly registered with the Ministry of Education, Reg. No.IS/02/299/08 Vol. 02 Folio 299 (Ministry of Education), and the Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA).
Victory Academy caters primarily to average and above average students who desire a disciplined environment and prefer the benefits of a smaller class. The school also offers intervention to slow learners and students with learning gaps, through our individualised programme. The school is committed to class sizes averaging 15 students.
Students are prepared to sit the Cambridge General Certificate Examination (GCE) at the Ordinary Level, or the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and the SAT’s with a view to equipping students to matriculate to tertiary institutions upon graduation. The curriculum will vary based on the dominant need of the students. The curriculum is a combination of local and international, with a heavy focus on individualization and mastery of concepts, as well as exploration and creative thinking.
Victory Academy acquired the 20 year operations of Covenant Christian Academy (High) in 2007. The school continued the mandate of values-based education focusing on moral training, character development, leadership training, citizenship, integrity and the social graces. It believes in imparting integrity, self confidence, love, discipline and the appreciation for the sanctity of life…all qualities of a good human being.
Service to the poor and support to the less fortunate have been the driving force behind the school’s missions and community service, which all students are required to be involved in.
In an effort to affect inner-city communities, the school offers scholarships to 10 needy students each year, with a view to resocializing them and equipping them with the strength of character, commitment and skills needed to go back and impact their communities.
The school boasts a rich history of excellence and high achievement and seeks to attract students who are committed to these ideals.
